Invisalign
Braces, what do you think when you hear that word? I can’t help but think of bulky the metal brackets and wires that you have to wear for years to straighten your teeth. Not really a pleasant thought, or experience, in a lot of cases.
What if I told you there was a way to get straight teeth without having metal braces? I recently started doing Invisalign in the office & would like to tell you a little bit about it.
Invisalign is a way to straighten your teeth pain free. Metal braces can cause friction and irritate the cheeks, in addition to what may be considered having an “unpleasant appearance”. Invisalign is an aligner made from a durable clear plastic that covers the teeth and is customized to perfectly fit each individual.
The really great thing is that they are nearly invisible. No one will even know you have them on! Straitening your teeth is as easy as taking impressions of your teeth and returning to the office at six week intervals to pick up your new aligners. The number of aligners can vary with each individual case, but a typically case takes about 12 months to complete. The aligners are worn day & night with the exception of eating, drinking, brushing and flossing.
I have found that Invisalign works particularly well for those of us who had braces as a kid but for one reason or another our teeth have shifted (relapsed). The great news is that for many of these cases straightening your teeth can take even less time, about 4 – 8 months!
So, if you’ve ever been embarrassed to smile, or would like to look into the possibility of straighter teeth, come in for a free Invisalign consultation so we can discuss Invisalign as an option to achieve your perfect smile!
